Constructing a shared Latrine and a disability Friendly Latrine equipped with solar lamps is one of the major dreams of a person living in an IDP camp or in rural areas where using a latrine equipped with solar lamps is hardly seen. Through SHF funding, HIWA managed to construct shared latrines and disability Friendly Latrines equipped with solar lamps for protection and discouraging open defecation in IDP camps and rural areas affected adversely by the recent devastating El Nino floods in Beledweyne district of HirShabelle state of Somalia.
