Humanitarian Integrity For Women Action ( HIWA)

HIWA is undertaking provision of clean and safe water to El Nino Floods displaced riverine communities in Beledweyne district through SHF WASH Project. A total of 1600HHs are targeted in this water trucking activities for 2 months (14th November 2023 – 13th January 2024). Beledweyne district is among the districts adversely affected by the El Nino floods in Somalia and more than 90% of the population in Beledweyne are displaced to outskirts of the town.

In Line with water trucking activities, HIWA also recruited 24 Hygiene Promoters to do hygiene promotion activities at Household Level and at water distribution points. Hygiene Promoters are also doing house to house visit to ensure water is clean, safe and available at targeted Household level.
